March 3 - Morning
“When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin. And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.
The Levites shall recite to all the
people of Israel in a loud voice:
“Cursed is anyone who makes an idol—a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands—and sets it up in secret.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonors his father’s bed.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
“Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”

The Wilderness Generation Agrees to the Covenant on Mt Gerizim andMt Ebal |
|
|
Just as the Exodus generation agreed to the covenant with Yahweh on Mount Sianai (Exod. 19:8), so the wilderness generation would also agree to the covenant on Mount Gerizim when they entered the Promised Land. Moses told Joshua that once they had entered the land they Israelites were to go to Shechem, which is between Mount Gerizim on the South and Mount Ebal to the north. Six of the tribes (all the sons of Jacob’s two wives Leah and Rachel, minus Reuben and Zebulun: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin) were to stand on Mount Gerizim and the other six tribes (Reuben, who lost his birthright as the oldest son of Jacob, Zebulun, the youngest son of Leah, and the four sons of Zilpah and Bilhah, the two handmaidens: Gad, Asher, Dan and Naphtali) were to stand on Mount Ebal.
Men from the tribe of Levi, most likely some priests, stood in the valley and read the twelve commands listed in Deuteronomy 27:14-26. One command dealt with idolatry (27:15), four are curses for social misdemeanors (27:16-19), four concern sexual misconduct (27:20-23), two refer to murder/injustice (27:24-25), and one concerns the whole of the law (27:26). Obedience would result in blessing and disobedience created a curse. The people on the two hills showed their understanding and agreement with what was read by saying out loud as a group, “Amen.” |

“Love without truth and honor is licentious in nature. Love without commitment is promiscuous and fleeting. Love without virtue and understanding is savage and selfish. Love without respect is short-lived. Love without these conditions is without God.” ― David W. Stevens |

The heart cannot truly believe what the mind rejects.
The Christian faith goes beyond reason but never against it. |

‘Ayin (Hb) – Eye (Eng) – ‘ayin is the Hebrew word that means “eye” and is also used to express “seeing” or “desire” as when it says “to lift up one’s ‘ayin.” Eyes, or ‘ayin is used figuratively to express spiritual abilities, acts and conditions of the soul. |

Evolution, or a primeval chaos with colliding atoms cannot explain any of these things:
time, space, power, matter, intelligence, order, life, personality or freewill.
• An Eternal God explains the concept of time.
• An Infinite God is the adequate cause of space.
• An Omnipotent God accounts for the existence of power and matter.
• An Omniscient God explains intelligence and order of creation.
• A Personal God is why there is life, personality and freewill within creation. |

If I am confused and do not know which way to go or what to do,
I will "submit to him, and he will make my paths stratight" today. |

"In all your ways submit
to him,
and he will make your paths straight."
