James was concerned about the faith of believers. Many associated with Jesus or believed in Jesus
but did not live, think, speak or act like Jesus. James says even demons believe in God.
James was looking for believers who had partaken of Jesus and had a faith that was life changing.

A few warnings:

• Do not make this a legalistic code or think that this list is the means of attaining salvation.
• Do not let pseudo or immature Christians manipulate you with guilt.
• Do not forsake the teaching of wisdom found in Proverbs and other places in the Bible that reinforce basic principles
  of creation's wisdom. For example, you can not quit your job to spend more time serving people.
  Wisdom will say if a man doesn't work he doesn't eat nor is he able to help anyone else.
  Part of an active faith is the application of wisdom.

James’ Checklist for Active/Living Faith

r	Patience – wait for the Lord in life and in suffering	5:7-11
r	Truthfulness – always be truthful and trustworthy	5:12
r	Prayerfulness – pray when in trouble, happy or sick	5:13-18
r	Multiply - help others produce these same indicators	5:19-20
