December 29 - Evening
"I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God’s wrath is completed...
...a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, 'Go, pour out the seven bowls of
God’s wrath on the earth.'
The first angel went and poured out his bowl on
the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on
the people who had the mark of the beast
and worshiped his image.
The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.
The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood...
...The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power
to scorch people with fire...
...The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony
and cursed the God of heaven because of
their pains and their sores, but they
refused to repent of what they had done.
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.
Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the
kings of the whole world, to gather them for the
battle on the great day of God Almighty...
they gathered the kings together to the
place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.
The seventh angel poured out his bowl into
the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice
from the throne, saying, 'It is done' Then there
came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake
like it has ever occurred since man has been
on earth, so tremendous was the quake."
- Revelation 15:1; 16:1-4, 8-14,16-18; 17-18 |

The Bowls Poured on the Evil Kingdom |
|
|
In chapters fifteen and sixteen seven angels are given seven bowls with the final seven plagues of God's wrath on the earth. There can only be a matter of weeks left before Jesus returns at this point, since these plagues would result in the extinction of man and life on earth if something did not interrupt them. These plagues are focused on the anti-christ's kingdom and include:
- Painful skin ulcers
- The destruction of the rest of the salt water seas leaving the earth to corrupt in its own filth
- The loss of all fresh water or drinking water
- The scorching of men by the sun
- A spiritual darkness leaving men hopeless
- A military invasion from the east which sets up the last battle centered in the middle east and Armageddon
- The final attack on the climate, geography and atmosphere of earth which includes lightning, thunder, one-hundred-pound hailstones and an earthquake unlike anything that has occurred on earth since man was created.
Chapter seventeen is a behind-the-scenes look at the spiritual dimension of the anti-christ's kingdom and the authority of Satan that has been handed through the ages from empire to empire including Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome and the kingdom of the anti-christ.
Chapter eighteen describes the fall of Babylon, the center of the world commerce in the final days. |

"We fear men so much, because we fear God so little. One fear cures another. When man’s terror scares you, turn your thoughts to the wrath of God."

In 367 Athanasius wrote his annual Easter Letter which was widely circulated. In this letter Athanasius, the bishop of Alexandria and the defender of the deity of Jesus at the Council of Nicaea, listed twenty-seven books as the only books regarded as Scripture. These are the same books we have in our NT today. The issue of canonicity was finally settled at the Council of Carthage in 397 AD. |

Kathairo (Gr) - Prune (Eng) - kathairo is a Greek word that means "to cleanse" of impurity and
"to prune" trees and vines. It is a word that is used by Jesus in John 15:2 to compare God the Father's work of "pruning" and "cleaning" every productive believer to the work of the laborer in the vineyard who cuts dead branches and lifts the good vines off the ground to avoid mildew and fungus.
"He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that
does bear fruit he prunes (kathairo)so that it will be even more fruitful." - John 15:2 |

A Judean temple at the site of Mozah (from Joshua 18:26) near Jerusalem has been uncovered. This temple, or high place, is dated at 980-830 BC during the reigns of Judah's kings Solomon, Rehoboam, Asa and Jehoshaphat. Each of these kings was recorded as failing to "destroy the high places" that led Judah astray.(1 Kgs 11:7;14:23; 15:14; 22:43) In addition to the high places of Arad and Dan, this is one of the few that have been uncovered so far.

Do I believe that the vengeance of God is as serious and intense as the love of God?
The same force seen in divine love at the cross will also appear someday in divine wrath.
I cannot rejoice in reality of God's divine love having been manifest to the world without fearful expectation that is divine judgment will also be manifest to the world. |
